Stanton Ridge has offered its golf course and facility at no charge hosting the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Girls’ Golf Team North Sectional and Central Jersey Girls’ Golf Championship along with supporting girls’ high school golf matches, Girls Go Golfing (GGG) and other junior girls’ golf events since 2005.
General Manager Jeff Miller partnered with junior girls’ golf advocate Lydia Siipola, Hunterdon Central girls’ inaugural golf team head coach (2004-2010). Stanton Ridge began by hosting GGG (2008), followed by the Central Jersey League Championship (2009) followed by the NJSIAA North Sectional (2010-2018). This year’s sectional is set for Tuesday, May 15 with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
Stanton Ridge Golf & Country Club members and staff via General Manager Jeff Miller’s leadership set the gold standard via its "Giving Back to Grow the Game of Golf.”
New Jersey’s own LPGA Star Marina Alex can be found making her mark in NJ high school at the Girls’ Tournament of Champions. The Wayne Hills high school coed team golfer had back-to-back wins for the Girls Individual Championship in 2007 and 2008.
Another “Jersey Girl” Symetra Tour rookie Taylor Totland won the Girls TOC in 2012. The Red Bank Catholic girls’ golf team member was runner-up twice: in 2011 to Governor Livingston coed golf team member Scotland Preston and in 2013 to Montgomery girls’ golf team member Alice Chen. Totland and Chen played on the women’s golf team at Furman University and are the 2017 USGA 4-ball Champions.
