For those of you who DO NOT FOLLOW NJ girls golf: here is the "skinny" on the Red Devil Invitational which Marina won in 2006:
The Red Devil Girls Golf 18-hole High School Girls Golf Invitational and Food Drive
The first 18-hole high school girls golf tournament in New Jersey. It was created in 2004 by HCRHS varsity girls golf team head coach Lydia Siipola in the spirit of providing high school age female golfers the same competitive playing opportunities as their high school age male counterparts.
At its inception in April, 2004 it was the first 18-hole invitational tournament female athletes played in the state of New Jersey.
A food drive which benefits the local Flemington, NJ food pantry is offered as well. All schools are invited and encouraged to participate int he food drive if they are able to do so.
Kudos to the membership and management of Copper Hill Country Club for stepping up to the plate and hitting it out of the park for Jersey girl golfers for 14 years!!!
GO, MARINA, GO!!!!
