Former GGGer Named Division III All-American Scholar

Kara's Player bio & stats at Gettysburg University

Kara McNulty of the Gettysburg College women’s golf team was named a Division III All-American Scholar by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). McNulty is the golf program’s first recipient of the NGCA’s All-American Scholar award. One of the most stringent academic awards in the nation, the award is presented only to those student-athletes that maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

McNulty turned in the best debut season by a Bullets’ first year in 2010-11. She averaged a team-best 84.9 strokes per round, 2.6 strokes better than the previous freshman scoring record and just -0.6 off the school’s single-season mark of 84.3 notched by Merrill Fortier ’08 in 2007-08. McNulty also led the Centennial Conference in scoring average.

McNulty won three events on the year, including carding a season-low 80 at the Navy Lady Midshipman Fall Invitational on Oct. 9, 2010. She also won the McDaniel Fall Invitational and posted the best score in a head-to-head match with Ursinus College. She finished in the top five in eight of nine events on the year. At her first Centennial Conference Championships, McNulty grabbed all-conference accolades by shooting a 92, tying for fourth-place overall, as Gettysburg captured its second conference title in the last four seasons.
