Lydia ROCKS the Field at the CN OPEN!!! The AMATEUR successfully defends her title!

I HAVE NO WORDS. CLICK HERE to read about Lydia's historic win!

Lydia Ko

Go, Lydia Go! Lady Liberty, NYC and the PGA Tour: Perfect Together!

Lydia Ko and I have some things in common: okay, so the first one is obvious: OUR NAME!!!
The second one is our love of golf!!!
And the third one?
Well, she is a Kiwi after all so maybe just maybe she has a soft spot for The Lord of the Rings series.
I prefer the books over the movies!!!
Lydia Ko is not a member of the LPGA and neither am I!!!
She became the youngest winner in LPGA Tour history by winning the CN Canadian Women's Open.
Prior to Ko the record was set by Lexi Thompson, who was 16 years, 7 months, 8 days when she won the 2011 Navistar LPGA Classic.
GO, LYDIA, GO!!!
My hubbie & I have been dvr'ing both the LPGA & PGA tour events this week.
The guys are playing the spectacular-views Liberty National in Jersey City, NJ.
As a former NJ native, I am thrilled that Mother Nature is in a fab mood this weekend gifting us with awesome weather.
The telecast has featured some A-1 shots of Lady Liberty herself.
Just a sumptuous treat for the eyes for those of us who love the NYC area and golf!!!!

HEALING FOR HAYLEY REBOOT

Hayley Filippini was one of GGG's stalwart junior golfers during our 4-year New Jersey run.

  • She was diagnosed with a high risk pineoblastoma in early 2011.
  • Hayley's treatment was performed at CHOP and followed the St. Jude's SJMB03 treatment protocol.
  • In March, 2012 she was back to school full-time.
  • In March 2013, as a freshman in high school she made the roster of the varsity girls golf team that I used to coach.
  • I got to know Hayley through Girls Go Golfing. I also got to know the family because both Hay's sister Taylor and her cousin Brooke came out for the golf team.
  • On August 10, 2013 her dad Anthony sent out a heartbreaking update on the Healing for Hayley pages. The cancer had returned and she would have to face treatment once more.

I have copied and pasted their updates below.

Please keep this spirited young woman and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

The last few days have been very busy and we haven’t had a chance to provide an update. Thank you for all the prayers and offers of kind support.

We were out and back in the car at 3:30 AM this morning to bring Hayley back to CHOP to be there by 9:30 AM to sign consent forms and to start her chemotherapy treatment of Temodar, Irinotecan and Avastin. We are planning on a long day in the clinic. We are asking for prayers for Hayley and that she remains comfortable throughout the day and has no side effects from the dosages she is being given.

After back and forth with the doctors, we finalized a treatment plan with Hayley’s doctor on Tuesday night. Wednesday morning we left home at 2:30 AM to drive Taylor down to Liberty University in southern Virginia.
We want you to know that we are feeling calm and comforted today that God is with us. He puts people and situations in front of us that teach us to be grateful for all we have been given. I just needed to talk to another parent in the oncology waiting room to realize how blessed we really are. Words coming from the only parent I talked to, one who had a situation much worse, and his words on faith were reassuring, encouraging and providing answers to some of the silent fears present in my head. Today the day clinic is full, there is not a cubicle open for chemotherapy. First time we have seen it like this since we started coming here 2 1/2 years ago. We have been put in a private room for chemotherapy which is very rare. I am sure if went outside this room decided to speak to any of the other twenty or so parents of the pediatric cancer patients in the day clinic, I would get an even greater appreciation of the gifts we have been given.

Hayley has been feeling fatigued and has had spells of nausea the last four days. Her doctor said this should start to subside after she finishes her five days of chemotherapy. She has been taking frequent naps during the day and zofran as needed for the nausea. Please pray for her comfort as she completes the first part of this round of chemotherapy.
Thank you again for all your prayers.

Exodus 14:14 The Lord your God will fight for you, you need only be still.
Hayley is having a tough time with exhaustion, nausea, and belly pain. It's rough on her body, and she has lost several pounds. Please keep praying for complete healing/cure and for God to guide the doctors and us to making the correct decisions for her. Please pray for God's healing hand to remove any tumors or cancer cells from her body. Please pray with confidence that God can and will heal her.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
We also ask for prayers for Hayley's MRI on October 8th. We pray that the chemo is working on these tumors and cancer cells and that they are not resistant to chemo.
Mark 10:27 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.
TRUST!
