The trio of Katie Lee, Jess Wild and Nicole Petrocchi combined to win the Girls Go Golfing event last Thursday at the Copper Hill Country Club. It was the eighth scheduled GGG outing of the season with Stanton Ridge hosting the series two days earlier.
Lee (Raritan Twp.), Wild (Delaware Twp.) and Petrocchi (Delaware Twp.) turned a 9-hole score of 40 to edge the quartet of Kaitlin Flynn, Marissa Castaldo, Lizzie Venditti and Julia Tonnenssen (all of Raritan Twp.) who combined for a 42.
In the 5-hole competition, the team of Inna Dowd, Celena Stoia, Chloie Stoia (all of Raritan Twp.) and Sarah Potter (Bridgewater Twp.) turned in a 22, while the trio of Lizzie Upwood, Sydney Smit and Sarah Upwood (all of Glen Gardner) carded a 21 for four holes.
The final GGG Tournament & Food Drive to benefit the Flemington Food Pantry was scheduled to be played at the Raritan Valley Country Club in Bridgewater this week. Other courses that hosted GGG events included Heron Glen, High Bridge Hills and Beaver Brook.
